C-400 is our finest micronised C-glass flake, engineered for pigment-like dispersibility. The small particle size unlocks thin-film (75–150 μm DFT) barrier coatings, anti-corrosion primers, and high-gloss decorative topcoats while retaining the moisture- and chemical-barrier benefits of lamellar flake reinforcement.

Product Overview

About C-400

C-400 is a micronised C-glass flake with a D50 of approximately 15 μm and 5 ± 2 μm thickness. 88% of the mass passes below 45 μm, producing a pigment-like filler that disperses uniformly in resin matrices with conventional high-shear mixing equipment. The ultra-fine platelets remain large enough to form an overlapping barrier at 75 μm DFT — enabling sprayable thin-film anti-corrosion primers, high-gloss decorative topcoats, and functional pigments for automotive and cosmetic applications. C-400 can also be used as a partial replacement for mica, talc, or barium sulphate in formulations where improved chemical resistance and mechanical reinforcement are required.
